fonts-mplus software package provides M+ sans serif fonts with different weights, you can install in your Debian 9 (Stretch) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fonts-mplus
fonts-mplus is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fonts-mplus package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fonts-mplus *
You will get with fonts-mplus package name, version, architecture and description in a table
